Every year the Statue of Equality erupts into the Samatha Kumbh — eleven days of vahana processions, cultural performances, the Theppotsavam boat festival on the temple tank, and the concluding Chakrasnanam bathing ritual.
It is a Brahmotsavam scaled to a monument: the deities of all 108 Divya Desam shrines in festival at once, drawing devotees in the hundreds of thousands and broadcast worldwide.
