For fourteen days in February 2022, the millennium celebration of Ra:ma:nuja:cha:rya's birth consecrated the Statue of Equality with the Sri Lakshmi Narayana Maha Krathuvu — a twelve-day yagna performed in 1,035 fire altars by 5,000 ritwiks, with all seven surviving branches of the four Vedas recited in full.
Soil and consecrated idols were brought from 108 pilgrimage sites; ten crore repetitions of the Ashtakshari mantra were offered by devotees worldwide; annadanam ran around the clock. Scholars called it the largest Vedic ritual gathering in living memory.
