The Vedas once flowed in 1,131 distinct recensions; today only twelve survive anywhere on earth. The Jeeyar Vedic Schools at JIVA, Varija, Veda Bhavan, Guntur, Samshabad, Vizag and Karimnagar were founded to make sure not one more is lost.
Students live the classical gurukulam life — memorizing their Vedic branch with perfect intonation — while also learning computers, music, art and sports, and serving in the gosala. They graduate as scholars equally at home in the yagnashala and the modern world.
