What is a Panchangam?

Panchangam literally means “five-limbed”: it is the Vedic almanac that records, for every day of the year, the five sacred timekeeping elements that govern auspicious activity.

Thithi

lunar day — 30 per month

నక్షత్రంनक्षत्र

Nakshathra

యోగంयोग

Yo:ga

కరణంकरण

Karana

వారంवार

Vara

“Every sacred undertaking begins by consulting the panchangam — that the act may be aligned with cosmic time.”
